What Scripts Should You Upload?

  • Give your scripts a chance to be discovered by Pros looking for scripts in your genre and type. Learn more

Writers Spotlight offers unlimited script uploads because you never know if the script sitting on your computer is the one a pro is looking for.

So which of your scripts should you upload?

Upload

Feature and pilot scripts:

  • All works in progress

If the script is not a finished first draft, we encourage you to upload it as private. You can still share the script in groups and with friends for feedback.

  • All scripts with a new draft

If the script is already on the site you can simply upload a new draft to that script and set it as active.

  • All scripts that can be used as a writing sample (only your intellectual property)
  • All scripts currently being rewritten
  • All scripts you want peer feedback on
  • All scripts you want pro feedback on
  • All finished scripts
  • All scripts ready to be seen by professionals
  • All scripts that are ready to be sold or filmed

Short film scripts:

We recommend you don’t fill your profile with multiple short films. Selectively choose your best work when it comes to your short film scripts. Only upload short film scripts for the following:

  • Scripts you want peer feedback on
  • Scripts that can be used as a writing sample (only your intellectual property)
  • Scripts that are ready to be sold or filmed
  • Scripts ready to be seen by professionals
Don't Upload

Feature and pilot scripts:

  • Any scripts you don’t own the intellectual property for
  • Any scripts that you have walked away from and no longer want to:
    • rewrite
    • use as a writing sample
    • sell
    • make

Short film scripts:

  • Any scripts you don’t own the intellectual property for
  • Any scripts that you don’t want to:
    • rewrite
    • use as a writing sample
    • sell
    • make
